meet our pastor

We welcome people from all traditions.  Pastor Jeff is such an example!  He found the need in his life for God's love and redemptive grace, and that led him to the Lutheran church later in life.  In his second career, Pastor Jeff attended seminary at United Lutheran Seminary, and was ordained as a Lutheran pastor in the ELCA, where he currently serves the faithful people of St. Mark's.

"I want people to now that God's free gift of grace is for YOU!  It does not matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from, or what you have done in the past, this is a God who loves YOU, and is for  YOU, just as you are!"

"St. Mark's is a comfortable and welcoming worship space where you can come as you are and hear a Gospel of free and redemptive grace that is relative to our struggles and challenges in the world today!"

"I  would love to chat with you!  I can be reached at 704-451-7307."

who we are

St. Mark's Lutheran Church has a long history serving the China Grove community.  St. Mark's was founded in 1894 and sits at the original site at 326 N. Main St. in China Grove.  Through God's free gift of grace, we are freed to focus on serving our neighbors and community.

We are part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), where we join others such as the United  Methodist Church, the Presbyterian church, The United Church of Christ and the Episcopal church.

We encourage people of all backgrounds to worship with us.

We share in the understanding that we are ALL in need of God's grace and celebrate the good news of that Gospel.

This is Christ's church!

Anyone and everyone is welcome here!
